HEALTH, LIFE & AUTONOMY

The Health, Life & Autonomy research group explores ethical dilemmas related to healthcare and the preservation of individual autonomy in complex medical decisions. Issues such as patient rights, equitable access to healthcare, and the role of autonomy in medical choices are central, especially in end-of-life care contexts and situations of vulnerability.

The research also covers the impact of new medical technologies, such as artificial intelligence applied to diagnostics, personalized therapies, and smart medical devices. Furthermore, issues related to embryology, assisted reproduction, and reproductive health receive significant attention, highlighting the ethical and social challenges arising from the application of these technologies.

Another relevant focus is the interaction between the dynamics of medical innovation and the preservation of human dignity. The group seeks ethical solutions to integrate scientific and technological advances into healthcare practices that respect individual and collective values, balancing innovation with social responsibility.
