Law, Politics and Society

The Law, Politics & Society research group analyzes the ethical, legal, and social implications of advances in neuroscience and neurotechnologies, including brain-machine interfaces, brain stimulation, memory manipulation, and cognitive enhancement technologies. It also studies fundamental questions such as consciousness, free will, autonomy, moral responsibility, and human identity, seeking to understand how these innovations can transform areas such as health, education, and work, as well as redefine the boundaries between the human and the artificial.
